Welcome to Vegan With Bambi!
I have founded this blog to share recipes and to provide an insight into transitioning to a vegan lifestyle. I’d also like to share with you some ingredients that are must haves in your kitchen, a list of inspirational books, blogs and documentaries. I am also planning to incorporate a page with quotes of why people have chosen to go vegan.
I first went vegan as a bit of a test for myself, I wanted to see if I could go vegan for a week. Like many, I found it super easy to go vegan – I never liked eggs or cheese and had already cut out cows milk from my diet. I was now mindful of checking the ingredients at the supermarket or asking at a restaurant – which may seem obsessive but I see it as being conscious of what you are putting into your body. I noticed that my hair was growing faster, my nails were getting thicker, my skin was healthier and I felt lighter.
After being vegan for about 6 months I had done my research, watched many documentaries and decided to go and see a doctor to get a check up. I saw my local GP and had my bloods tested, which came back fine – I had no deficiencies to worry about.
I was happy knowing that everything I am eating isn’t supporting an industry that is harming innocent animals.
I believe that everyone is entitled to make their own choice in the lifestyle they wish to lead and of course, for some it is much harder to go vegan. Going vegetarian is a great first step to minimising animal cruelty! There are so many alternatives to animal products these days, you just need to look. If you would like any advice on replacing certain ingredients in recipes, send me an email (link below).
Not all of my recipes are 100% my own, so I do give credit to my sources where possible and will leave a note if I have not managed to find the source of an adapted recipe! If you have any questions or requests on a vegan lifestyle feel free to leave a comment or email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
